A guide to carbon monoxide...

Carbon monoxide linked to a number of common disorders

In this interview, on The Dr. Andrea Show - Empowered for Life, Dr. Andrea Pennington connects with environmental toxicologist Albert Donnay.

(the interview is about 1 hour)

Together they shed light on the link between Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and a number of other common health issues and their potential connection to carbon monoxide.

Dr. Pennington first interviewed Albert Donnay for her show at Discovery Health - revealing fascinating research about legendary author Edgar Allen Poe, his writings, and the link to multiple carbon monoxide poisonings.

Dr. Pennington served as the Medical Director and Spokesperson for Discovery Health Channel and Discovery Health Online and has been featured on Oprah, Dr. Oz, CNN, Fox News, the Today Show, the Early Show – CBS, and other television programs.

Albert Donnay is a consulting toxicologist, environmental health engineer and carbon monoxide analyst who volunteers for MCS Referral & Resources, which he co-founded in 1994.

He has developed new devices and protocols for diagnosing and treating carbon monoxide poisoning in humans, detecting carbon monoxide in the environment, and preventing CO deaths and poisonings from vehicles and gas appliances.

There is good evidence to show that many overlapping disorders including chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, multiple chemical sensitivity and multi-sensory sensitivity are linked to carbon monoxide poisoning and can easily be treated as such.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, and related disorders are all on the rise. Millions suffer from chronic fatigue and muscle weakness for no apparent reason. Ever increasing numbers of people are getting sick from their environments - the very places they live and work.

Dr. Andrea has seen an increase in complaints of sensitivity to light, sound, and even to electronics like TV's, computers, and mobile devices. Perfumes, dyes and household products can set some people into a tailspin of allergy symptoms, migraines and debilitating depletion of physical and mental energy.

You may well learn that something in your environment may be making you sick. And you could be a few simple steps away from relief and claiming your life back.

Dr. Andreas desire is to bring help and hope to those with pain, disability, migraines, fibromyalgia and multiple chemical and sensitivities - to get relief from symptoms.

Many referred to Dr. Andrea have already seen a number of doctors - often having their complaints dismissed as ‘psycho-somatic illnesses’ or it's ‘all in their heads.’

If you are suffering with any of the above challenges, brain fog, mental confusion, chronic fatigue, or you believe you may have been exposed to carbon monoxide or other chemicals you can request a consultation with Dr. Andrea Pennington.

Consultations generally include an initial phone consultation, prescriptions for lab tests, Oxygen therapy or other necessary treatments, and one or two follow-up conversations by phone.

Dr. Pennington will assess and offer treatment recommendations for you to follow on your own - or with your healthcare team.

My Partner and I have been bickering non stop since we got these new neighbors below is back in june 2013. Today is Oct 7 2013. This past weekend we were woke up in the middle of the night to what we thought was the fire alarm but when the police arrived they decided to have a carbon monoxide test run and it came back as a low level instead.

Oddly enough my partner and I have sworn up and down that these two new tenants in the unit below us have been making and distributing drugs. Is it possible they are emitting carbon monoxide? They new the police would be arriving on scene shortly and had conveniently taken out their trash and ran their fans to push out odors from their unit which gave off a rubber like smell while the officer was here which was what enticed him to have the test performed.

Prior to this incident, I have had this awful salty/coppery/tinny taste in my mouth, I had to be rushed to the ER room as I had severe chest pains and a blood pressure of 170/120 and I have never had any blood pressure problems ever I am only 26.

I am now on Thursday going into have an upper GI. My ears constantly itch and I am congested all the time and never have allergies.

If this is the case, how do I prove something like this and what can I do to treat myself and my partner for it? We used to get along so well and we never fought like this. The stress is really getting to us and we seem like all we do is sleep. Yet when we do sleep its never enough.

HELP US Please!

Withdrawal?
Sheelagh from Elkland, PA
for the last 2 years I have had 3 particular medical issues that no one has been able to figure out: Narcolepsy, double-vision, head droop. I recent figured out that I have been exposed to low levels of CO for possible 3 1/2 years. These are levels ranging from 10 to 52 (highest measured on my new CO monitor). Gas company found problem in the furnace. Landlady promptly installed a new furnace and Gas company could not find even a whisper of CO.

My double-vision has cleared up. I'm waiting to see if the other two issues also resolve.

What I am wondering is are there withdrawal syptoms to the removal of all CO from my living environment? Right now I have chills, nausea, headache, emotional sensitivity -- all the stuff that CO EXPSOSURE would cause but there is no CO anymore. Could my body be reacting the same way to the lact of CO that it had become accostomed to ?? What do I do?

shaking
todd bennett from buffalo ny
does anyone know if shaking is linked to co poisoning?

Accelerating experience

This interview loaded strangely and played back at extremely high speed. As a result, it sounded rather like a conversation with Alvin and the Chipmunks -- more amusing than informative.

Appreciate the excellent information
One of the most frustrating things about having been poisoned is the shocking lack of information supposed experts have - I have yet to come across a doctor that actually knows anything more than CO is dangerous.

As far as understanding the long term symptoms, forget it. If it weren't for this site, us survivors would be like mushrooms - completely in the dark.

Great info as always on this site. Thanks!

Scott
